George Smith is co-owner of the Mahar Funeral Home.  A 1985 graduate of St. Mary’s Academy in Hoosick Falls, New York, Smith went on to receive a Bachelor of Science in Business Adminstration and a minor in Professional Golf Management from Methodist College in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

He has actively served the Hoosick Falls community in a number of positions.  Smith currently sits on the boards of the Hoosick Falls Country Club, St. Mary’s Cemetery and Maple Grove Cemetery.  He currently belongs to the Bennington Elks Lodge (#567), the Knights of Columbus Council (#1107), and the Hoosick Falls and Taconic Country Clubs.  He is also a former Exalted Ruler of the Hoosick Falls Elks Lodge (#178).

Smith resides in Hoosick Falls with his two boys Matthew and Miles.
